As the tournament is heading towards the business end, the playoffs race is getting intense. Royal Challengers Bangalore who looked quite a confident side in the first half have lost two consecutive games and their playoffs chances are become taken a hit. They will face SRH in the next game and would look to come off victorious to seal their spot in the playoffs. As the match is at Sharjah, the small ground can be vital in preparing the strategy.

Out of the two games, they have played here, they were able to win one of them. Their side is looking balanced but a weaker lower order can create trouble for them. SRH are coming after a comprehensive win against DC and RCB it is expected to be a tough contest. As the game is to be played at Sharjah, we can expect a high scoring clash.

Here’s the predicted XI of RCB for Match 52 RCB vs SRH:-

Openers (Josh Philippe and Devdutt Padikkal)

The new opening pair looked extremely promising in their first outing together. They both compliment each other as Josh Philippe can hit big shots from the first ball and Padikkal takes his time to get settled. As SRH doesn’t have any lethal pacer in the powerplay, RCB can expect a positive start from their openers.

Middle-order (Virat Kohli (C), AB de Villiers, Gurkeerat Singh Mann and Shivam Dube)

The middle-order is their greatest strength and Virat Kohli will don the role of an anchor yet again. However, as the ground is small in size, it is expected to be a high-scoring affair and Kohli might need to increase his scoring rate this time. AB de Villiers will be a vital cog in their middle order and if he can get past Rashid Khan, he can score big runs for his team.

Gurkeerat Mann has shown promise and his role as a floater has suited him a lot. By adding him in the mixture, RCB has got the much-needed depth in their batting order. Shivam Dube can hit the big sixes in the middle order apart from being their sixth bowling option.

All-rounder (Chris Morris and Washington Sundar)

Chris Morris can hit big shots in the lower order and he has been their most reliable death bowler. Considering the short boundaries, his role will be more important this time. Washington Sundar can be used in the powerplay to tackle David Warner early on. He can also be promoted up the order considering he is a left-hander.

Bowlers (Isuru Udana, Mohammed Siraj and Yuzvendra Chahal)

Isuru Udana can be added to the team to replace Dale Steyn. Steyn looked out of touch in his last outing and with a dismal season, he could be low in confidence as well. Mohammed Siraj can be given the new ball as he has been successful with that. Yuzvendra Chahal is RCB’s leading wicket-taker and as the pitch is expected to be on the slower side he can be extremely important against SRH.
